Celebrating the 73rd independence day of Indonesia, Surabaya Government in collaboration with the Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association (APPBI) held an International-scale marathon, Surabaya Marathon 2018 on Sunday, August 12, 2018. The event was attended by 4,300 participants from 30 countries with several categories of participants; national, open and master (age 40 years and over). Marathon is divided into four different distance categories, 42 km, 21 km, 10 km and 5 km.
PT. Kroya Wood Estetika as a local distributor of PT. Seng Fong Moulding Perkasa participated in the event by make a team of 20 people joined in the 5 km distance category. At 2 a.m., Seng Fong team from Jombang arrived at the event venue on Jalan Embong Malang then gathered with the Kroya team who had arrived earlier in Surabaya. The event began with the departure of the full marathon participants 42 km right at 4 a.m., followed by 21 km marathon, 10 km, 5 km, sequently 30 minutes. This marathon event was opened directly by the Mayor of Surabaya, Mrs. Tri Rismaharini.
The marathon event was fun. Traditional arts such as Reog Ponorogo and barongsai are also showed to entertain the participants and the people who come to see the race. As a form of appreciation for the enthusiasm of employees, PT. Seng Fong Moulding Perkasa gives an award of 5,000,000 IDR for the team members who took the first place through the finish line. Beside of the aim to build teamwork and make a competitive spirit among employees, participation of PT. Seng Fong Molding Perkasa and PT. Kroya Wood Estetika is as proof of their existence in celebrating the 73rd independence day of Indonesia.
